Как пишет современник событий Павел Скала из Згорже, «так поступили по старинному обычаю и примеру, имевшему быть в королевстве Чешском и городе Пражском». Хотя до земли было метров 15, выброшенные, удачно упав на кучу мусора, отделались изрядным испугом и легкими ушибами. Но это событие, вошедшее в историю как вторая пражская дефенестрация (первая была во времена гуситов), имело большие политические последствия: конфликт между чешскими сословиями и короной стал открытым. Чехия взбунтовалась.
